Evan S. Benn recently wrote for the Post-Dispatch an article describing a new trend in women's Holiday exchanges. The article details the women of the Barnes-Jewish Hospitals communication team's move away from the traditional cookies and ornaments to focus on something they all enjoy: a good beer.
Several of the women realized they didn't quite have the time or the energy to spend baking those delicious and intricate Holiday treats, they were already working hard and what fun is a holiday party if you're too stressed to enjoy it?
So these innovative and original women devised a new sort of Christmas party, one where they each brought in 24 bottles of beer: 6 to share at the party and 18 to take home at the end of the night. The end result other then making their significant others a bit envious? They had a great time and got to try all kinds of great beers.
