In the midst of summer's heat, refreshing wheat beers have emerged as a favorite for the season. The most popular wheat beers are the new American-style hefeweizen beers such as Widmer Hefeweizen, Pyramid Hefeweizen, Anchor's Summer Beer or New Belgium's Sunshine Wheat. Here, the hefe, which means yeast in German, is not filtered out of the beer, which makes these beers cloudy. Leaving the yeast in the beer makes them more flavorful, too.
