Pho Adapted From Martha Stewart
Martha Stewart's Pho Recipe


Servings: 6
Ingredients:
  • 1 lb beef sirloin, remove any visible fat
  • ¼ lb Chinese or Vietnamese rice noodles
  • 3 cups of Beef Stock (preferably homemade)
  • 3 tablespoons of Fish Sauce
  • 1 ½ cups of bean sprouts 
  • 1 onion finely sliced 
  • 4 scallions (Green Onions) finely sliced
  • 1 small jalapeno finely sliced horizontally
  • 1/3 cup cilantro, chopped
  • Asian Hot Chile Sauce (served on the side)



Instructions:
  1. Freeze beef for one hour.
  2. In a mixing bowl soak rice noodles in cold water until softened, approximately 30 minutes. Drain.
  3. In a large pot mix beef stock, fish sauce and 1 and ½ cups water over medium-high heat
  4. After one hour is up, take beef from the freezer and finely slice into strips 
  5. In six bowls divide the noodles and beef strips. Bring you’re your stock and fish sauce misture to a boil and pour over the meat and noodles. Once beef is cooked by the boiling stock mixture add beansprouts, green onions, cilantro, jalapeno and onion.
